Teamwork Makes the Dream Work:  The Most Incredible Restoration Results

Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services partnered with Parks and Recreation, Charlotte Water Utility, US Fish and Wildlife, and 60 residents to achieve the most incredible stream restoration project to date. With 10,000 feet of improvement, Mother Nature has exploded into a diverse and natural utopia of wildlife bliss.

Take the journey through the Nature preserve that is Stevens Creek. A Charlotte, NC treasure open to the public and teaming with wildlife in and around the water. We’ll cover the process, structures, partnerships, and results that turned this project from a dream to reality.

 

About David Woodie, PE
David Woodie currently serves as the Storm Water Services Project Manager for Charlotte/Mecklenburg County Government of Charlotte, NC. David has over 25 years of professional experience in construction, survey, water resources, bridge/hydraulic design, bmp design, and both bmp/stream construction. Working through private sector, State and Local Government, David has constructed major highway projects, 140+ Best Management Practices across the state of North Carolina as well as implemented over 30 miles of stream restoration in Mecklenburg County. David is a Professional Engineer.
